The New and Improved Elumentis LED Lamp!
Our Elumentis LED Lamp has a new part number and can now be ordered in a rechargeable battery version as well! With a battery installed it gives the user the ability to easily transport and use the lamp in different locations without being plugged in. This unique lamp provides bright, adjustable illumination with intuitive operation. It’s a great option for those with low vision because it allows users to select the optimal light color temperature and brightness level they need to maximize their viewing environment and it can be easily adjusted for different lighting needs.
The energy-efficient LEDs are long-lasting (25,000 hours), dimmable, and provide light in three different color temperatures and the lamp extends up to 21 inches tall to reach over most computer monitors and provide illumination onto the keyboard. It also folds down to just 3 inches high for maximum portability and storage.

Our Sponsored Students Had an Amazing Experience!
The Space Camp for Interested Visually Impaired Students provides a unique place for learning and growth. Those lucky students who get to go to this camp have nothing but great things to share about their time away. When asked what his favorite part of camp was, one recent attendee answered, “If I had to pick one just for me to tell, it would be The Simulation Mission. I had the opportunity to experience first hand my passion for astronomy and what it feels to be an astronaut.”

Brain Injury Awareness Month
Visual problems are often overlooked during the initial treatment of a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and in some cases, symptoms may not be present until later on. Patients may notice changes in their vision after having a concussion or some other head trauma, but may not think to contact an eye care professional to determine the cause of the vision change and start of treatment and/or referral to a specialist.
TBI patients often have light sensitivity after their injury and can usually benefit from wearing special FL-41 filters because they can reduce glare. Eschenbach carries a variety of FL-41 filters in different shades and in different styles including both fit-over and wear alone styles.

Say Hi to Melissa Wyman!
Melissa is our Pacific Northwest & Western Canada Territory Manager who covers Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Hawaii & Alaska in the US, as well as British Colombia and Alberta in Canada. She started with Eschenbach in October of 2024 and spends her time meeting with and training eyecare and vision rehab professionals so they can enhance the low vision care service if they already have or start a new offering.

When she is not working, she enjoys weekend travel adventures in her motor home with her husband and beloved golden retriever Dug as well as going to Seahawks games and happy hour with her girlfriends.
Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication Melissa!
One of the most powerful tools in a low vision clinic is encouragement. Oftentimes low vision patients come to the office already feeling discouraged. They may have been told “nothing more can be done” for them or they may have tried one or more OTC magnifiers and found that “magnifiers don’t work” for them. As such, they may not have a lot of confidence that seeing another eye care provider about their vision is going to help them.
When patients are supported and small successes are celebrated, however, their confidence builds. Patients become more motivated, more willing to try, and more hopeful about improvement. This leads to better patient outcomes in terms of them being better able to find success with a low vision device and better practice outcomes in terms of improved chances of collecting revenue from the sale of the device that can help meet financial obligations of the practice.
Be sure and encourage your low vision patients during their exam. Even the small wins can go a long way to build their confidence and bring them closer to meeting their visual goals!
