WOMEN'S EYE HEALTH & SAFETY MONTH
April is Women’s Eye Health and Safety Month! Did you know that women are more prone to eye diseases? According to Prevent Blindness, the nation’s oldest non-profit dedicated to eye health, April has been designated as Women’s Eye Health and Safety Month to spotlight this gender disparity. Around the world, 112 million more women than men are living with vision loss, including blindness. Women also face a higher risk of conditions like age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye, glaucoma, refractive errors, and thyroid eye disease.
For female patients who experience vision loss, it’s important to remember that high-quality low vision devices can significantly enhance their remaining sight and overall quality of life.
