June is Cataract Awareness Month! It’s crucial to highlight that cataracts remain the primary cause of blindness worldwide, affecting more than 25 million Americans. This dedicated month aims to raise awareness about cataract symptoms, types, and treatment options. For comprehensive details, refer to Prevent Blindness. It’s essential to inform your patients about the preventive measure of wearing UV-blocking sunglasses to mitigate the risk of cataract development.
However, for patients of yours who already have cataracts, Eschenbach carries a wide range of absorptive filters, like our Asensys® line, that provide contrast enhancement and glare reduction to enhance vision. Reach out to your Territory Manager for a demonstration and see the range of tints that they come in.
Let’s also remember to celebrate National Sunglasses Day on June 27th which is a commemorative day that reminds us of the importance of wearing UV protective sunwear. Learn more about this important day and how you can participate here: https://thevisioncouncil.org/members/national-sunglasses-day
