Coming Soon! Eschenbach is launching a new line of absorptive filters called Asensys®! These specialized sunglasses fit over patients’ prescription glasses and provide contrast improvement and all-round protection against the sun and unpleasant glare. The unique tinted eyewear will be available in 4 colors with cut-off transmissions of 450 nm, 511 nm, 527 nm and 550 nm which is a new tint we’ve not offered before in any of our other absorptive filter lines. They are also prescription correctable.
The new Asensys® lenses are made of lightweight CR39, provide 100% UV protection and are available in both polarized and non-polarized versions in each color. The eyewear come in two frame sizes, each of which provides top shield coverage above the eyes and side shields on the temples to maximize the amount of protection from side glare.

DIABETIC EYE DISEASE AWARENESS MONTH
November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month! Diabetic Eye Disease Month focuses attention on keeping eyes healthy and urges vision care organizations and eye care professionals to encourage patients to get ongoing eye exams and share with them resources describing how diabetes can decrease sight.
Make sure your patients are taking care of their eyes and seeing you for regular eye exams because early detection and treatment can prevent or delay vision loss. Eschenbach can provide you with the products to offer them which will supplement any medical treatment they are receiving and allow them to more successfully accomplish their desired tasks such as reading and writing!
Faculty Position Available The Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Lions Low Vision Research & Rehabilitation Center. Applicants should have an OD or MD degree and experience caring for patients with chronic vision loss and dedication to advancing the field of vision rehabilitation.

ESCHENBACH SPACE CAMP SPONSORSHIP
Our Two Sponsored Students Have Graduated Space Camp! We are excited to announce that our 2 sponsored visually impaired students who attended the 2023 Space Camp for Interested Visually Impaired Students (SCIVIS), held from October 1-5, successfully graduated! Our two winners flew all the way to the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL, for a week and were immersed in astronaut training techniques using equipment adapted from NASA’s very own astronaut program. They got to ride in a multi-axis trainer, experience a 1/6th Gravity Chair, assemble and launch a rocket, do an underwater scuba build, and complete a spaceflight mission. They also had daily contests like racing to climb a pamper pole, riding the moonshot launcher, and participate in trivia challenges. We’re so proud of them!
Learn more about the SCIVIS program at www.scivis.org.
Check out our newest low vision products like the Smartlux® Digital and Vario Digital video magnifiers, EasyPocket 6x hand-held magnifier and Elumentis LED Lamp at these upcoming exhibitions!
