The New easyPOCKET 6x Magnifier is Here!

Eschenbach has added a new product to the easyPOCKET hand-held magnifier family, a 6x (24D) option. Like the other easyPOCKET magnifiers, it features LED illumination and is easy to travel with due to its inconspicuous size.

It features a unique aspheric / diffractive hybrid lens that is distortion-free, 50mm x 46mm in size and only 3 mm thick. The lens is protected by a white plastic case that minimizes scratching and bright illumination is provided by an SMD LED that never needs to be changed. Plus, the light conveniently goes on when the lens is pulled out of the built-in case, and off when it is pushed back into the case.

BRAIN INJURY AWARENESS MONTH

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month!

Visual problems are often overlooked during initial treatment of a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and in some cases, symptoms may not be present until sometime following the injury. Patients may notice changes in their vision following a concussion or some other head trauma and that should be a sign to immediately contact their eye care professional to determine the cause of the vision change and start of treatment and/or referral to a specialist.

TBI patients are often very light sensitive and can benefit from wearing special FL-41 filters that protect against unpleasant glare. Eschenbach carries a line of Acunis FL-41 filters that are available in four different frame styles and three tints. PRESCRIBING FOR MULTIPLE GOALS

You can improve the success of your low vision exams by prescribing multiple vision aids to meet the needs of multiple tasks!

We can assist you with prescribing multiple vision aids to each of your low vision patients so that they can discover solutions to multiple tasks that they may be having trouble completing. If your patients are using a device for near vision, for example, they may also need a device like a MaxTV® for distance tasks such as watching TV.

Eschenbach can help you pinpoint which devices you’re dispensing the most as single items and then provide recommendations on accessories or other devices that can be dispensed in conjunction with those already being prescribed.
