DIABETIC EYE DISEASE AWARENESS MONTH

November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month!

People with diabetes are more likely to develop blinding eye diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and cataracts. Yet recent studies have revealed low awareness of the issue among those at higher risk for diabetes. Prevent Blindness has declared November as Diabetes-related Eye Disease Month to provide the public with important information on the impact that diabetes can have on vision, and offer tools and programs to help prevent significant vision loss from the disease.

Make sure your patients are taking care of their eyes and seeing you for regular eye exams because early detection and treatment, when warranted, can prevent or delay blindness. For patients who do experience vision loss, Eschenbach can provide you with the tools to offer them so that they can accomplish their desired tasks again!
